which wraps itself in the cloak of disguise of concern for the school.

Oh yes, the ongoing problems which must be addressed, etc. This is euphemism for "I want to whine and complain."

Years ago I heard an illustration which applies: There are two ways to turn a stampede of cattle, stand in front of them and wave your arms and shout at them or ride with the lead and turn them. It seems that John and others have done a lot of waving their arms and shouting. It might be time to try another approach.

To refer to Mrs. Sturdivant as the dragon and anyone who disagrees with the opinion of Mr. Harris, frequently writing under one of his three or four other screen names, as one of her minions is an ad hominem at its simplest and totally nonconstructive.

To be quite candid, as neither a member of the CoC or the GCS community, I find what I read saddening. Some of those who post simply will not let it go.

The recent death of Mr. Drake brought several of the most disturbing comments I have ever read.

Some of you are the most hateful people I have ever read. It is not for me to pass judgment, but if were looking at this site to represent the views of Christian people it would be a mistake.

I have talked with people from within the GCS community who are very angry with this site and what has been written here They are not angry with the context but with the vileness. Shame on you!!

Interesting comment from an anonymous poster.

It may be time to enact a requirement to register & be identified when you post rule.

Hmmm.

Hi Matheta,

If I understand things correctly, John initially did try the approach you suggest with no success. Also, I've got to disagree with your statement of John posting under multiple names. Even in the moments I've disagreed with him most, I think John has always posted under his name. I've never seen any evidence of anonymity (unlike you or myself).

Yes, there are things here that are saddening from all sides of the issues at Goodpasture - I absolutely agree. And I don't always agree with the way things have been handled here. Do you have constructive ideas on better ways?

Thanks!

I do not put a lot of belief in those posts where people are justs guests or have other names, like I am doing oddly enough. Perhaps requiring people to register would help eliminate the negativity. Unless I could register without my real name or email address, I would not because I am getting close to needing a place for our kids and I don't want to be blackballed.

Matheta,

Welcome back. It's good to know I am not the only one who hates Harris and his ditto heads for what he has done to the school.

John didn't start the fire, he was trying to help put it out.

Those who are content with the status quo will normally feel that those who question it or seek change to it are nothing more than trouble makers.

However, because of the limits of human error, seldom is the status quo an optimal situation so there is always opportunity for identifying areas that may need improvement and seeking to implement positive change.

Pride and arrogance foster an attitude and perception of status quo perfection without an allowance for possible improvement. That same pride and arrogance provide a pedestal to attack those who question the status quo. When that happens, those content with the status quo blame those seeking or bringing change as disruptive trouble makers.

Please seek professional help. It is not healthly for you to continue to come to a site that upsets you so much. If you are not happy with the way things are here than why don't you just move on?

This is our site. You don't agree with us so you should just go away . . . .

On I'm sorry; I thought I was a Sturdivant Sycophant for a moment.

who cares?

If you're happy at GCS, then great. If you're not, then leave.

John, you can consider everyone who comes to this site warned about the problems surrounding GCS. If they choose to stay, then that is their right. I know it seems unbelieveable that someone would want to stay and PAY for an inferior school, but if they want to then WHO CARES. Or GCS will close its doors if it gets bad enough. I knowit's your alma mater but wouldn't you rather remember GCS as the way it was when you were there than to know how it is running now?

I think this site is fair warning for those who come, or are thinking about coming, but really, there is nothing left to discuss, unless the board steps in and decides to do something.

And by the way, I'll say it one more time. PARENTS HAVE COMPLAINED TO THE ADMINISTRATION AND EVERYONE AND WAS LIED TO OR IGNORED. THAT IS THE PURPOSE FOR THIS SITE. So, those of you who say, "can't you discuss these issues with the administration" and "you are going about it the wrong way" are WRONG. Parents felt this was the only way left to make sure they are being heard and it worked.

People who I meet now often don't know the Goodpasture of the 1970's that I knew. They see what it is now and that is all that registers. So no, I care what it is now and remember what it was then. Sadly, I realize the "what if" of Goodpasture and not the "what is" and the "what if" tells me it could be great.
